Wow. This really made me stop and take notice. I’m a lover of alpine reds and this was no exception. The nose is absolutely stunning, exploding with violets and dried herbs, pepper and game, followed by a juicy lip smacking rush of tart cranberry, red currant, and blackberry on the palate, with more flower petals and a taut, crushed stone structure. Huge fan of almost everything grown in Savoie. First time tasting Persan. Bigger and bolder then Mondeuse which is a favorite varietal. Red and black fruit with some hefty black pepper. Pretty tannic but so delicious. — 4 years ago

85% Mondeuse, 15% Persan. 11% ABV. 24mg/l sulfur. Matchstick / toasted nut, slight spritz and funk at opening. Lovely at 2hrs decant. Tons of violet, rose and very floral / potpourri, white pepper, purple fruited (pomegranate, cassis and plum), currant, red apple skin, black cherry skins, raspberry. Love the way this evolves with air, fresh plum skin tannins and florals. Intriguing and sexy and utterly drinkable — 4 years ago
