Sparkly geode vibes, mineral and purple plums and spice on the nose, textured with ample dried and ripe red berries on the body. The tannins are elevated but sandy and friendly, a wine that, along with salinity and tempting herbal notes, makes it a food wine if ever there was one. — 2 years ago
A nice CS/Sangiovese blend from around Pisa.
Very interesting how this evolves in the glass with the character of the two grapes coming out to shine and fading - sometimes this is very much reminiscent of a northern Medoc with gravelly black currants, a few minutes later the hallmark tomato leaf + some rusticity of Sangiovese emerges.
On the palate this is quite firm with a proper tannic frame filled with black cherry & black currant and juicy acidity.

Poggio al Tesoro is located in the admired area of Bolgheri, an appellation situated in the upper part of Tuscany’s Maremma, south of Pisa and just two miles from the Tyrrhenian Sea. Pale lemon with aromas of fresh stone and tropical fruits accompanied by floral tones and light citrus notes. On the palate tangy peach, melon and lemon flavors, crisp, surrounded by nutty spice. Very, very Bordeaux’esque. Very St. Emilion.
Black currants, plums, black currant leaf & a touch of dark cherries. Sweet & plush yet savoury. With a touch of allspice, black pepper, bay leaf, a hint of roast. Fresh, juicy.
Amazing precision on the palate, plush yet juicy, rich yet vibrant. I love the super fine, polished tannins. And the balamce between black currant freshness and savoury, spicy, earthy character.
Complex yet so lovely & drinkable.

Exactly what it should be! I am here in Pisa- central Tuscany- and enjoying a wine from the region with food from the area. This family is a many generation making wine. It is 3 years old and it is fresh and long and balanced with fruit, spice and acidity. Bravo! — 8 years ago

Gorgeous red fruit and roses, violet, and the slightest hint of balsamic. Light on the palate with sandy medium-plus tannins, you get the florals, then acidic lemon and tomato paste (high quality) kick through, finishing with (again) a touch of balsamic. Lively, alive even. Prickly red fruit and herbs say hi on the nose. Elevated acid and pleasantly sandpapery tannins create a tense but energetic body that grips yet glides. More red plums and raspberries take a back seat to herbal concoctions and purple flowers. The finish goes on and on, leaning more into fruit and florals. Simply a stunner, my gosh. — 2 years ago
Caiarossa is located in Riparbella, mid-Tuscany, Province of Pisa. The closeness to the sea has given this mix of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese and Alicante freshness, delicacy and elegance.
