Fabulous new discovery! Roasted strawberry with a hint of baking space. Lovely Grenache. Would definitely buy again. — 4 years ago
This still has the smooth balanced fruit that it had on the day it was bottled. Well done John Leo!!! — 5 years ago
The chosen white wine for the Downs Club Magnum dinner This was a cellar release from Jim Barry recently purchased by the Club. Noticeable Kerosene aromas. Lime and mineral on the palate developing toasty maturity. A long life ahead coming from magnum. The Florita vineyard was famous in the 70s and 80s for the brilliant long lived Riesling made by John Vickery for the Leo Buring label. This wine given 98 points by James Halliday. — 3 years ago

Untuned/unfiltered. Apple cider and funk whisper. Brine and pith and orange blossom on the pallet. Killer. Buy more now! — 2 years ago
It is a medium dark wine with a savory nose, showing violets, licorice, forest floor and a touch of cardamom. The palate is spicy, with black pepper and herbs joining the black berry profile. The tannins are quite firm and the acidity is fresh. It is a youthful wine which will pair nicely with a pork roast. — 4 years ago
Hillinger Eveline Pinot Noir 2017. Pale Ruby in the glass with light staining of the tears. Nose: medium+ notes of ripe cranberry, bubblegum or red cherry cough drops, hints of floral. Violet, maybe? and a touch of mushroom and brett. Medium flavor intensity, dry, medium+ acidity, medium- body, medium alc, medium- tannins (silty, back-of-palate bitter) Brighter fruit aromas yield to cooked elements of the same and more of the funky elements on the palate, where tertiary elements abound: smoke, forest floor, black pepper, take center stage along with some introduction of mineral/graphite. Medium+ finish. This wine presents a complex and evolving experience, well integrated acidity and flavor characteristics. The alcohol angles out a bit, but will mellow with ageing. Delicious now. Seriously. Buy two bottles and compare notes at a later date. — 5 years ago

“PT” comes exclusives from the Pettineo contrada located 217m above sea level with vines 70+ years of age. Arianna ferments in cement and then ages the wine in large oval cement tanks for nearly two years. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2016 “PT” pours a slightly hazy garnet with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears and signs of some light sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with a beautiful perfume of ripe red fruits: strawberries, raspberries, Morello cherry, red flowers, leather, minerals and exotic spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with a refined, silky texture. This was a fabulous paring with spaghetti all’assassina. Drink now and over the next few years. — 11 days ago
