Do you know I keep trying it and I’m just not a fan of Gewurztraminer. There’s too much of a perfume flavor to it but it’s sort of reminds me of like chewing those fake fruit gummy‘s. This is delicious, it just sort of gets overwhelming after a while. — 4 years ago

Mild mild aroma of citrus and green apples. Green apple citrus tartness in the middle then a quick finish. — 3 years ago
a dose of mineral, almost konbu-like wash, sea breeze, ash, pith, and beach plum. 48-hrs open. great clarity and snappiness, if a trifle quick on the back end, it’s made up for in prettiness. — 4 years ago
Previously had the 2015. This was slightly more off-dry than dry but still excellent. — 5 years ago
The Big Boy!!!! 15.7% abv. 2016 Mercury Head Cabernet Sauvignon stored for 6 years at 50 degrees in my wine cellar. Decanted for 45 minutes.:
The color is dark but not opaque. Legs are very slow and thick. The bouquet on this is fantastic! I smell Blackberry rhubarb pie fresh out of the oven. As my nose starts to tingle as my taste kicks in before even putting it to my lips. With the first sip, my palate is suddenly bombarded with fresh black berries and dark currant! There is a hint of black licorice. On the second sip, I can start to taste hints of black cherry and black pepper. Then there is a sudden development of white oak and graphite. After another sip and letting it settle with more aeration on my tongue, a quick swallow, and SHAZAM! A Velvety smooth, buttery delicious moderately dry beautiful cabernet Finish. My senses are aching for more!!!!! — 3 years ago
2010. 9.0-9.1. Good for older Bordeaux fix, but lacks fruit to be great. Glycerin, minerals, some pencil lead come through at expense of muted blue and black fruits and moderate, integrated tannins. Little/no acid or tartness to round it all out. Certainly interesting but unlikely to gain what it needs over time. $74 at Liquor Outlet. — 5 years ago
