Boars' View The Coast Pinot Noir 2015

Pop and pour. A gorgeous dark ruby red color. On the nose: jumping from the glass are ripe cherries, clove, earth, smokey oak, herbs, bacon fat. Taste: smooth, creamy, expressive mouthcoating wine with black raspberry, ripe strawberry, cedar, tobacco, black tea, little pepper, and a minerally nutmeg medium plus finish. YUM! — 23 days ago

Very easy sipper. Not overwhelming on the sweetness. But not overly dry either. — 16 days ago

Domaine Jamet

Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2018

From magnum this wine did not disappoint as a complement to squab. Dark fruit and spice with great acidity. Admittedly we enjoyed this wine in the younger side albeit the bright fruit was enjoyed by all. — a month ago

Chateau Ste. Michelle

Columbia Valley Riesling 2022

This wine has barely any color at all, just a very faint yellow-green tint. The nose is nice. There is a slight trace of petrol, which I always love to find in a Riesling. More dominant is a lanolin note which joins a light floral aroma. The palate straddles the fence between dry and sweet, offering up some tasty stone fruit and a savory side marked by gentle spices and a workable acidity. I would like a drier wine better, but I drank this quaff gladly and poured another. — 8 months ago

Château Léoville-Las Cases

Grand Vin de Leoville du Marquis de las Cases Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1990

Medium ruby , terracotta /garnet rim. Quite round and ripe , red plum , cigar and ripe blackberry, touch of soy . Touch of cocoa , blackberry and ripe dark cherry , black tea . Quite sweet , rich on the palate, generous for Las Cases , slightly dried fruit , fig and red plum . Pretty decent length , balanced but quite discreet acidity , rounded tannins . This is at peak now and I don’t see much up side from here , so best to drink over the next 5 years or so, though it did hold up in the glass quite well . Atypical for Las Cases with its ripe fruit, quite low acidity , sweet tannin: also this only has 42% Cabernet Sauvignon. Overall probably the least successful of the wines in this tasting , but the level overall was very high. — a month ago
