I have long been a fan of St. George for a long time, and this confirms my high opinion of them. Nose of rye spice with vanilla and bananas foster, and on the taste, honey-sweetened tea with clove and pepper, masala tea spices, oak, and bitter chocolate. Orange emerges immediately on the finish with subsequent honey. — 4 years ago
Smells like Christmas market- lots of cinnamon, poured over ice cream would be perfect to finish the Christmas dinner — 4 months ago
Garnet in color. Nose of black fruits, plums, leather, chocolate. Violets? Same on the palette, add anise and orange peel. Dark chocolate, bitter coffee and tar finish that I’m not sure if I like. Colonial Spirits. — 4 years ago
Funk on the nose, ripe red fruit, cranberry, and a lot of acid, graphite, gamey. From Amaro Spirits and Wine. 10/29/20 — 5 years ago
Here’s a link to the back story on this once popular Provençal/alps aperitif now interesting to me because of the White Negroni cocktail and the fabulous label. https://spiritsreview.com/reviews/kina-lavion-d-or/ — 7 years ago
Guess what it’s Chardonnay! If you couldn’t get that then maybe switch to spirits. Very sulphitic in character both on the nose and palate. When you only really drink natural wines this old school wine isn’t what you want any more. The decanter still had a glass in it at the end of the night. — 4 months ago
Lots of Barbera acid, stewed sour cherry, dried violets, brambly, cedar, black pepper and touch of baking spice. Some Nebbiolo-like tar? From Amaro Spirits and Wine. 10/30/20 — 5 years ago
Smooth, perfect for making rye Manhattans. One of my favorite small batch whiskeys. It is produced at National Historic site in the Hudson Valley. — 5 years ago

Upsettingly delicious. Really throws a wrench into the entire notion of sacred, estate-made, Kentucky Bourbon. I will be seeking out the rest of their line. — 4 months ago
