Monte Olmi Capitel Riserva Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2017

Wow. Absolutely stunning. I recommend letting it aerate for a day; this really needs to open. Having said that, I probably won’t open my other bottles before 5 years. A hint of sweetness on the nose but mostly blackberry, boysenberry and earthiness on my palate. Yum 😋 — 3 months ago

Ansari Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2017

This is a very good Amarone, I just missed a bit more acidity, known sweetness was a tiny bit out of balance. But this is just a remark, not criticism. It’s a great wine — 3 years ago

Cantine di Ora

Amicone Veneto Red Blend 2018

What’s sad is that the flavour is not far off from a low end amarone these days… and at this price gimme this one every time. You can get two for the price of an entry level tedeschi. — 3 years ago

Pinot Noir 2019

Delicious ripe cherry on the nose and palate, with a touch of cinnamon. Medium-bodied. We drank this slightly chilled due to scorching hot weather in San Diego and it was incredibly refreshing. — 3 years ago

Reserve Petite Sirah 2009

Olives and black fruit on the nose. Full bodied, with long finish. Perfect balance of fruit and acidity. I've previously tried Tedeschi's 2017, 2016, and now 2009 vintages of petite sirah. I wonder if 2009 was a very hot year, as the 2009 did seem higher in alcohol than I remembered either of the other vintages. — 4 years ago
