La bouche est aussi impressionnante, texture, richesse sans excès, d’une fraîcheur et d’une concentration que je qualifierais de “sournoise”, tout comme la très longue finale incroyable. We treat ourselves on new year’s eve. The nose alone is amazing, roses, flowery, fruity too, with such complexity and elegance. Was this a Rhône blend in a previous vintage, or was I rating another wine? Perhaps the varietals change from year to year, so long as it represents “one valley”, i.e. Walla Walla. Regardless, this vintage is a nice Bordeaux style blend, 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc. Good stuff! It’s a big wine with balanced acidity. I enjoyed this as a cocktail wine. The mouthfeel is rich and thick, but not cloying. The use of oak is admirably restrained. It appreciated in flavor after some decanting. — 3 years ago
