What a nose! Complex, enticing, quite elegant. Black fruit & black cherries, nice wood accents, a bit of earthy notes, a hint of leather. Actually very Bordeaux’esque… and yet slightly different. Warmer. Closer to Bolgheri or Maremma. So enticing.
On the palate this is much lighter - very Baga in style. Light yet with presence & punch. Love the tannic frame - present & firm yet so juicy. Brilliant freshness and purity and great depth. This has real character and is so delicious at the same time.

A brilliant wine! — 5 months ago
2022 Rich and full bodied. Nice oak and good balance of sweet and sour red fruits. Enjoyed with grilled lamb, smokehouse sweet potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. — a month ago
One of the absolute best Monastrell I’ve had from Spain. I specifically told the wine store guy I didn’t line most of these from Spain because they are too fruit driven & flabby. He said this was old school and very reminiscent of southern France. He was spot on: this had that feral quality, meaty, iron, black olives, smoky, just transported me back to the affordable days of Minervois & Bandol. Balanced beautiful generous - kept opening more & more over a couple of hours. A real treat! — 2 years ago

It’s got the nose of a Douro red, and the it’s got the punch of a Douro red on the first sip. Strangely enough it becomes a more normal rose on subsequent sips. Crisp and clean acidity until a few bitter high notes intrude on the finish. This is my new favorite rose! — 2 months ago
80% Baga with 20% Touriga National blended in. Only made in select vintages. Dark ruby color throughout. Bright and concentrated red fruit notes on both the nose and palate. Hints of red flowers, baking spices, minerals, garrigue and tobacco. Extremely long finish. Beautiful balance even at 18 years of age. Acidity and tannins have harmonized beautifully. Fresh tasting and still quite powerful. I do not understand why the Baga grape has such a poor reputation. Every Quinta de Foz de Arouce wine made from this grape that I have had the pleasure of tasting has been exceptional. — 2 years ago

Very fresh nose - green vines and fresh air, a bit of acetone. Red fruit, nice but not terribly complex. — 4 days ago
