Compared to the last Becker dry Spatlese tasted, this was less inviting: a bit more mineral & stony, with none of the fruit flavors associated with Riesling to be found. Very chiseled & imagine needs time in bottle/ long decant. You can still taste the precision though. — 7 months ago

Zesty, cheek puckering, mineral driven. — 15 hours ago
Deep ruby in color; smoke, cigar box, and black cherries on the nose; medium acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like hibiscus, cherries, plums, and a little eucalyptus with a long finish. I didn't think I would like this wine based on the aromas, but I am really enjoying it. — 5 months ago

2019. Pop of huge Meyer lemon. Unrip Pineapple-mango and dried mango. High viscosity for a dry. Clean acidic finish. — 4 years ago
En-magnum and opened for my baby boy’s first birthday, this Becker was a hit with the crowd. I thought it could have been better though. Frankly, this had a little more petrol note than I’d like, but it still showed excellent energy. Earthy, salty, powerful, and laser-sharp. Hope to try a better sample down the line. — 9 months ago

Here’s a curveball. It opens up to soaked wet corn notes and evolves to plush red fruit on the palate; good backbone, firm tannins, full bodied, high alcohol, big, bold and yes, (Malbec) is bigger (when made) in Texas. — a month ago
