Domaine de la Janasse

Prestige Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2016

This is a beautiful wine that is both opulent in the breadth of Ira flavors and aromas yet restrained in its compact nature at this point. Clocks in at 14%abv and is filled with pear, white peach, candied orange and lemon peel and a lush wave of white flowers. Borders on being full-bodied but a delight to drink. Lovely now it will only get more complex with age — 4 years ago

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin

Vintage Rosé Brut Champagne Blend 2008

What to drink when your daughter turns 12 today? Exactly!
Will check in later for the score. Back to the party first 🥳!
Loads of strawberries, some raspberries too. Nice hint of pear and even some tropical fruit. Enough acidity and some grapefruit bitters to make it an interesting wine. Real yummie treat. Fine pearly mousse. Bottle was empty before we knew....

Lioco

Sativa Mendocino Carignan 2016

Blood-ruby, undiluted tenor from rim to rim. Blackberry-cran with a smoky coat, violets, raspberry reduction, wild nettle, suede, rose petal, dried cherry, applewood, and gingerly ginger, spare cedar, finest snuff, cherry pit and damp clove spiced nose. All with a slight memory of campfire. Black plum, cedar, violet, dried, sour cherry, dark leather, peppercorn, dried cranberry and red currant, cinnamon apple, fine, grippy tannins that integrate into the whole with a pleasing sense of herbs and bitters, sage and lavender. Did not expect this complexity from carignan, and floral notes that evoke like Nebbiolo. Class. .

Asili Riserva Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2014

Not sure about this one. Perhaps too young, perhaps my cold affected my senses... cinnamon, chestnuts, some sweet aromas. In the palate smooth with tamed tannins. It is classy but probably a Baby ....

Caymus Vineyards

Suisun Valley Grand Durif 2017

Doing a wine pairing at Carrabbas with Caymus wines. This one is a bit spicy for me especially with Italian sausage and rigatoni, would be much better without a spicy pairing. — 4 years ago

Cascina delle Rose

Tre Stelle Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2016

Really nice. Vibrant fruit, nice tannic structure. Would like another 3-4yrs on the bottle before I try again. Solid wine — 4 years ago
