Domaine de Montille

Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2018

This 2018 Bourgogne Pinot Noir from Domaine de Montille is a delightful expression of the varietal. With its medium ruby color and light to medium body, it exhibits an elegant and approachable nature. The wine boasts a medium finish that leaves a pleasant impression on the palate, while its medium acidity provides a refreshing balance.

As you raise the glass to your nose, a symphony of floral aromas unfolds, dominated by the captivating scent of roses and a bouquet of mixed flowers. The bright red cherries add a vibrant fruit-forward character, complemented by subtle undertones of thyme that lend an herbaceous touch. A hint of white pepper adds an intriguing spiciness, enhancing the aromatic complexity of this exquisite Pinot Noir.

In terms of recommendation, I must say this wine is truly amazing. Its vibrant personality and beautifully expressive nature make it an excellent choice to enjoy over lunch, particularly when paired with lamb. The wine's liveliness and interplay of flavors will undoubtedly elevate the dining experience, adding an extra layer of enjoyment. With its exceptional qualities, I confidently assign this Domaine de Montille Bourgogne Pinot Noir a rating of 95, recognizing its excellence and finesse.

Savor the Domaine de Montille 2018 Bourgogne Pinot Noir and allow it to transport you to a realm of floral enchantment and vibrant fruit. Cheers to a beautiful and remarkable Pinot Noir!

Substantial, classy Chateauneuf. Opened too young but evened out given enough time to breathe. Sausage, char, overripe fruit, plum on nose. Palate right on in weight, viscous. A steal at $41 (Wegmans). — a year ago

Dunn Vineyards

Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Here’s a gem from Howell Mountain AVA, Napa Valley!

Dunn Vineyards, Howell Mountain, Cabernet Sauvignon (2013).

It’s a deep ruby wine with subtle garnet influences. The nose and palate offer medium(+) intensity of ripe black cherry, blackcurrant, plum, blackberries, blueberry, creme de cassis, violet, black licorice, anise, cedar, pencil shavings, tobacco, leather, clove, balsamic, olive, peat, vanilla, cardamom, nutmeg…

On the palate, this wine is dry with medium alcohol (13.9%), medium(+) acidity, a medium(+) body, and high tannins that are silky smooth and fine grained. The finish lingers.

It’s absolutely delicious - cheers!!

The wine was very nice, but still a youngster. The restaurant was a tip from a friend and was very good. Hidden but delicious. — a year ago

Mayacamas Vineyards

Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

True to its own style since the beginning, this Cab really transcends amongst the greatest in Napa. Needs ample time to flourish into concentrated and integrated red berry and blue berry flavors balanced by subtle acidity with slight hints of cedar, eucalyptus, and cassis finish. Cheers. — a year ago

Ruby, ripe, bright fruit florals. Blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, plum, boysenberries, dark cherries, haunting blue fruits, poached strawberries, dry cranberries, black tea with mid fruit, anise, mid to dark spice for days, some pepper, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, vanilla, light, dark raisins, older tobacco, new leather, light graphite, crushed rocks/limestone, dry top soil, dark rich soil with dry leaves, chewy leather, slight mint, dry herbs, fresh to slightly withering red, dark, blue florals framed in violets. Acidity is magnificence, well structured, balanced, 50-50 fruit and soft earth finish that lasts minutes. — a year ago
