La Jota Vineyard Co.

Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Rich nose of cigar box, cedar and black fruit. Silky yet heady mouthfeel of cassis and dark red and more black fruit, saddle leather and Italian espresso roast. Lonnnng finish of black cherry and bitter chocolate notes. Phenomenal, needs at least 2-3 more years. ❤️ — a year ago

Château La Mission Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2001

Rematch……our “wine of the year 2022” is leading again in 2023 (but there’s a long way to go and plenty more wine to drink!)
2001 vintage, perfect for drinking now, super long finish, great fruit concentration, as good as before

Château Rouget

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Had this last year and it tastes even better a year later. What hit me right away as I poured my glass was the smell— like medicinal cherry. Tastes of cherry, raspberry flowers, graphite and potters clay, and herbs de Provence. Would still pair this with pets for a Cairn Terrier. — a year ago

Vietti

Derthona Colli Tortonesi Timorasso 2020

Leave open at least 30 minutes before consuming. Then the strong lemon flavor dissipates and a clean, slightly oxidized, vanilla and cream flavor emerge. Nose is passion fruit. Great choice with vegetables. — a year ago

Château Rouget

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

2016: Thick and extracted young Merlot-based Bordeaux with a ton of purple fruit and more oak than i’d like. Smooth and velvety but not subtle. Could get more complex over time and make for a much more interesting wine. $60 at WL. — a year ago

Bodega Garzon

Reserva Maldonado Tannat 2020

Very impressive. Love a good tannat and hate an under achieving tannat. This however is very good. Bing Cherry and leather on the front. Chaulky black fruit on the finishing notes. Had ours with a specialty pizza of pepperoni and mushrooms. Absolutely a fabulous pairing! Lastly, the spice on this slightly tannic blend is perfect. ♥️ — a year ago

Château Langoa Barton

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Depth of blue and black fruit was insane. Well balanced. savoury bramble note gave the palate an added depth and complexity which raised this. With F&Y — a year ago
