Red, resinous currant with a licorice twist. Warm blackberry, dark toast, vanilla, cedar and sweet tabac seamlessly tailored, even at such a young age. Fresh gingerbread oven, too. Silk suit of tannins; loose stitching. Wound tightly showing sinewy potential and a Christmas cactus of sutured fruits bursting at the seams with liquid graphite and black currant reduction with fresh cassis and olive berry. Violets, treacle and black tea. Onyx train of a witch bride all the way down Howell mountain! #Dunn #DunnVineyards #napacab #napacabernet #Napa #howellmountain #howell #howellmtn #mountainwine #cabernetacademy #cabernetday #cabernetsauvignon #californiaclassic — 6 years ago
Easy to identify this as a NAPA Cab, but disappointingly soft....and I don't mean soft in the milk chocolate and buttery oak sense, I mean almost sweet cherry and soft tannins. The mouthfeel was creamy and I liked that, but there was never the tannin/oak assault that the big reds should deliver. #eponymous #napa #napavalley #napacabernet #napacab — 10 years ago
It’s official - happy 40th @deked1! Wine is deep ruby hue, heavy tearing. Creme de cassis, molasses, pipe tobacco, nutmeg and baking spices, vanilla and oak. Pop and pour variety, fruit and oak forward. Velveteen texture.

Not as #special as I was hoping for... lacks nuances - maybe the next bottle will thrill me more #caymusspecialselection #napacabernet — 9 years ago
Solid Attempt at Napa Cab by Beringer with Knights Valley fruit. A bit jammy for my liking but very nice richness and depth. Great packaging and cellar-worthy! #beringer #napa #napavalley #napacabernet #napacab #knightsvalley — 10 years ago

I can’t hardly believe my luck - found this at a local grill house bar restaurant in MD for $85 on their cellar clearance wine menu. Truthfully I hadn’t had this nice of a #napacabernet in quite some time. Bold fruit on the nose but some nice earth, acidity and elegance on the finish with fine tannins. Unmistakably Napa and delicious. Beautiful pairing for upscale meatloaf. — 5 years ago
Another fruit bomb from Napa. I'm guessing this one may mellow out over the next 3-5 years. Big fruit with soft blueberry acidity. Not boozy enough but a classic Napa mouthfeel of vanilla cream and good oak. #napa #napavalley #napacabernet #napacab #joelgott — 10 years ago
Classic Napa cabernet but lean, well balanced and long finish @paradigm #napacabernet — 10 years ago

We’re snowed ❄️ in on a Friday night and decided to imbibe this generously gifted Chateau Potelle, VGS Vintage 2010, ABV 14.5%. It’s predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside Merlot, from Mount Veeder in Napa Valley, California. 🍷 🇺🇸
Wow, aromas and flavors are exuberant, concentrated, rich, and span a spectrum of characteristics from candied plum, ripe black cherry, and crème de cassis to black olive and crushed violet, to nutmeg, cardamom, and clove, to leather, tobacco, smoke, meat, and earth.
Tannins and mouthfeel are supple and smooth. Acidity is present, lending balance.
This wine is bold and is drinking beautifully now, though it has potential for further aging.
Cheers!
