Gospel truth: this wine has 16 tons of different varietals in it. Real jammy strawberry, mocha, black plum, honeyed toast, cherry cough syrup nose, medium mouthfeel dives into the treacle well with strawberry syrup, black cherry, tart plum and more cocoa. Like a mirror image of the bouquet in a lot of ways. Really a little better than most Cali red wines in this genre. And an interesting blend. Normally I am all over the petit Verdot in a wine, but this time it was ankle deep in the jam. As others reviewers have said, this wine is consistently outstanding. It pours a deep purple. Wonderful flavors of berries and dried fruit. Balanced tannins and an exquisite finish. As with the other wine for my birthday, it may have overpowered my seafood pasta at Mangia Bene restaurant a little bit. But it was worth it because it was so fantastic.
