Very elegant white. Unnecessary heavy bottle. I feel so tired with heavy bottles to transmit quality. If you have a good wine…sell it for a high price and people will buy it and if it’s good you’ll sell more. It has an initial perfume like a Sauvignon Blanc from Bordeaux or the Loire #semillon and then as soon as you have drunk it, you taste the #assyrtiko on the finish with a chalky fresh lime and acidic taste. Very interesting and totally worth it. Greek whites rock! — 3 years ago
I love it. 2014 and still glowing and growing in the bottle. No fatigue whatsoever. Tons of fruit. Hints of oak. Delicious 50% #semillon 48% #sauvignonblanc 2% #muscadelle incredible value for the price. #bordeaux #grandvindebordeaux #france a little burnt rubber on the nose and like barbecued kiwi fruit if such a thing existed — 4 years ago

Have you tasted the latest release (2022) Semillon from @mosswood yet?
I was kindly sent a bottle to taste recently (thank you!) and it went down a treat and very speedily by Mr Spittoon and myself 😜
The 2021-22 growing season was near on perfect plus the team used a new technique, ‘flotation’ when producing this wine. I’d highly recommend heading over to their website to read more about it.
In true Sem style, it was made entirely in stainless steal tanks (no oak). If you have the patience, pop it in the cellar for the next 20 years for a deliciously complex Sem!
So here are my notes:
Pale yellow shade in the glass with flecks of green. On the nose there’s plentiful juicy fig, a hint of lanolin and some lemon zest. In the mouth it’s more on the savoury side of things I find yet juicy and rounded. A good amount of body and acidity to it with more figs, citrus and apple crunch coming though 😋
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy.
