fully opaque purple, prominent glass staining tears; blackberry, black cherry, dark chocolate, vanilla, hints of smoke; dark fruit, moderate length; high acidity, prominent fine grained tannins, 14.5% ABV; made from blend of winery estate fruit and fruit purchased from the hillside vineyards around Los Olivos, would question whether some Syrah has been blended in; fruit forward, simple

Nice. Rich and plush. Bright nose of mature black fruits. Love the deep coffee notes. Finishes soft and round. No cellaring potential here - drink now.

The nose has deep plum notes. The wine has a smooth mouth feel not quite velvet. The wine is not overly complex but is a smooth pleasure to drink. The wine finishes with a sweet over ripe plum. The one knock on this wine is the utter lack of oak, it’s almost nonexistent.
