Bressler
St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon
#AgedWineTuesday
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Spicy and interesting.
Full bodied with medium acidity.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, dark chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, earth and sweet spices.
Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins.
This 16 year old tastes very fresh, and smells young too. Showing great complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.
I had it blind, and guessed Napa Cabernet 2015. Missed it by a decade. So interesting.
A little past its peak, but still delicious. I had the 2014 not too long ago, and it was drinking much better.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
14.4% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$100.

En mag and drink so very nice. A cross section of new and old world. Seductive nose of middle eastern incense and crushed black fruits. Some red fruits, but black fruit prevails. Sharply focused offering from Bob that hits all the elements from nose to palate.

Jan 27th, 2019A great gift from @Martin G Rivard many moons ago. We love Bressler, but found this to be less fruit-forward. Notes of spice, licorice and tar suggest that the 06 need to be consumed. Nice mid-palate weight and density, with light oak treatment. Thank you so much my friend!!!

1 person found it helpfulOct 2nd, 2015Classic and true-drinks nearly perfect currently. Fruit is still in play-presents velvety tannins. Plush wine on the nose, intense without being over the top. Ripe plum, anise and kirsch create a supple taste profile that builds up of the finish that holds for over 30 sec. great bottle.

Dec 2nd, 201606' Bressler Cabernet. I poured this straight into a decanter. A short time later it was drinking.
Dark fruits (black cherries), coco. Light tannins & acidity, splash of sweet-oak . Seamless, very polished & approachable. Drinking window- Now-2020. Pop & enjoy this beauty.
Martin I'm a believer! @Martin G Rivard Thank you so very much for this truly amazing wine. Martin you are the man! Edit- Pop & pour wine.
