Trying this next to the ‘11 Marcassin was quite interesting. This was borderline reductive in profile. More Chablis like than typical Cali chard. At 9yrs though, the bright fruit has darkened a bit...golden pear, kumquat, sea spray aromatics. Tart on the palate with oyster shell and bruised Granny Smith apple.

High acid and salinity. Needs to decant for the sulfites to go away, then it's all baked apples and lemon. This one needs to lay down for at least another 5 to mellow out. The potential is there though.

a bouquet of funky slightly rotten hay, yeast, sweet cream, a little lemon flavors show lots of lemon and cream with some stone, pretty elegant despite the funky aromas. nice mouthfeel.
