Cantina di Montalcino
Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese
Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, Italy
Yeah. Can’t say I didn’t like it but also not that it was special. A bit out of balance. Very acidic that overruled the fruit underneath. Had expected more of a concert from a wine of nearly 9 years old and a good vintage.

Jan 19th, 2024Came into classic Brunello profile only on Day 2. Worth the wait. Great fruit, balanced tannins. Day 1 it was thin and astringent. Much smoother after giving it time

Vibrant dark cherry with some hints of fresh plum. Such well integrated, rounded tannins that made it an extreme balanced wine with a great finish.

Feb 6th, 2021Decent value bottle picked up at Costco. Not young tasting; seems like it is close to peak and won’t age as well as I’d hope.
