Too ripe and tasted over oaked to me. I drink a fair amount of older Carlisle and this is the first time I have encountered this. Hope it is just the bottle but probably my least favorite Carlisle Zin to date and only got more astringent after being open 24 and 36 hours.

Strikes a nice balance between jammy and spicy....very smooth and drinkable for a big zin....

Dec 24th, 2015The nose is a strange mix of menthol and Play-Doh...the palate has some decent dark, jammy fruit and spice up front, but then follows with some flat, muddled flavors mixed in that makes this a really disjointed wine...a bizarre zin not to my liking...likely a bad/tainted bottle to be fair...
