Medium Ruby with aromas of blue/black berry fruits and oaky spice. Palate shows cherry, blackberry and currant flavors with vanilla and floral cedar notes. Firm tannins medium+ finish, ok balance ending with a fruit character. Tasting Sample, ‘17 a bit better than ‘16.

The 2011 kind of flabby with low acidity, light tannins and 12.5 pct AbV. Just ok.

Ruby in color with medium intensity.
Very pronounced nose of spices, blueberries, strawberries, a touch of barnyard, oak, dill and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and smooth , yet big tannins.
Dry and smooth on the palate with strawberries, blueberries, green bell pepper, earth and black pepper.
Medium finish with some tartness and peppercorn.
12.5% alcohol by volume and aged in oak barrels for 6 months.
This 100% Sirah is still a baby, this one can age for 20 years very nicely.

Ive tasted this wine many times before and never been much of a fan. But this time around it was all spice, tire rubber, burnt meat. Wonderfully layered on the nose. Coming into its own, maybe?
