Nobles Rives Crozes-Hermitage Syrah

Medium Ruby with aromas of blue and black berry fruits and oaky spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry, blackberry and currants with floral spice cedar notes. Firm chalky tannins, medium+ finish, good balance ending with a fruit and spice character.

2018 vintage. 100% Marsanne. Partly fermented in oak. 15% of the volume went through malolactic fermentation. 75% aged in 400 liter oak casks. Cave de Tain is one of the best and reliable cooperatives in France with very good value for money. This Saint-Péray is no exception to the rule. Flowers and stone fruit with good structure and a mineral hint. Good length too. What would one ask more for 10,90 euros?

Hints of leather and spice with minimal fruit / berries; smooth and light bodied.

Very enjoyable notes of blackberry, black cherry, and secondary flavours of chocolate and slight charred wood. Slight butter and cheese notes and a bit of spice.

A lot of fun with this perfect q/p ratio.
