1 person found it helpfulDec 5th, 2021Dark Ruby with aromas of rich berry fruit and hints floral and earthy spice. On the palate youthful flavors of cherry, plum and sweet blackberry preserves with complex zesty notes of cacao, spice, forest floor and rich oak. Silky supple tannins, great balance with acidity, long finish, outstanding mouthfeel, ending with oak, mineral and spice notes. WOW! Tasting Sample!

1 person found it helpfulDec 11th, 2019The 2015 Caymus ‘Special Selection’ Cabernet Sauvignon is an epic follow-up to the exceedingly good 2014 edition of this wine. The wine shows considerably better following a two hour decant. An inky, glass-staining purple color with a core resembling a black hole, this massive wine begins with aromas reminiscent of creme de cassis, dark chocolate shavings, graphite, blueberry compote and licorice candy. The fruit weight that engulfs the mid-palate exudes decadence. Mouth-watering acidity alongside black tea, Black Forest Cake and creme de cassis flavors with lighter earthy undertones all entice the senses on the palate. While obviously not for the weary, this gorgeous wine is impossible to resist now and will provide drinking enjoyment over the next two decades. Drink 2020-2040- 97

Still quite fruity but with steak, it gives a lot of red berry fruit and the oak is reasonable and the sweetness is gone with the airtime.
Overall good wine but I thought it lost out to the Paul Hobbs LPV ‘14.

Never thought I was going to like this so much but it is such a familiar taste it feels undeniably comfortable on the pallet. Big, bold, jammy blue fruit, chewy, vanilla, hints of smoke, lightly oaky, round, silky, with an imposing and prolonged finish. Just a hundred percent soulful Napa Cab in a bottle.
