Whoa Nelly this was good. It hit its stride in the third hour, at which time it showed it with rich dark fruit, charred toast, cola, silky tannin, and nice medium acid. Lots of life left in this vintage I’m sure, but splendid right now.

A very balanced and full flavored wine. Who is the most striking to me though was I have a vanilla flavor from the oak which I really wasn’t expecting. However, the tannins and acidity were strong enough to give it a good structure. The body was a bit dense and chewy exhibiting some good cooking spices and medium intensity flavors of ripeness.
