I had a taste for a Bordeaux tonight so I pulled out this 2006 Chateau Meyney with a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot, and 9% Cabernet Franc which I purchased for $34.99. On the nose is a very pleasant black raspberry, black currant, anise, and graphite. On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, cassis, and tobacco. There is a good balanced mouth feel, medium+ acidity, medium+ sandy tannins and a good long finish. An enjoyable drinkable Bordeaux that I would think has lots of life left 5-10 years at least.
