Nicely matured and ready-to-go! Very old school Napa Cab nose with weediness and cassis wrestling for top billing. So velvety in the mouth. Tannins nearly all gone. Nicely concentrated, there savory and fruity flavors are in a nice equipoise. Lots of length! Very nice.

Ripe, lush, good balance. Just starting to come into itself. Still has plenty of time left.

Raspberry, sorrel, musty boysenberry, magenta, body is smooth, sweet, raspberry, strawberry, thick, acid and tannins are balanced and hidden but still very much there

Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, forest floor, anise, currant, earthy, spice. On the palate, currant, anise, cocoa powder. Soft cocoa powder finish.

What a difference an hour for in the decanter makes! Had this wine, same vintage, just eight months ago and wasn’t completely pleased—was too tannic, acidic and unbalanced. Now, on the Fourth of July 2019, it was sublime after decanting. Smooth tannins, nice fruit and perfume, complex mineral and cocoa notes; all in all, just a great red to pair with prime NY steak on Independence Day. God bless America!
