May 10th, 2020Tasted ‘15 again, just a wonderful wine! In 1805, Daniel Phelan, an Irish wine broker, acquired Clos de Garamey, and was followed in 1810 by the acquisition of the Segur de Cabanac estate, creating the domain that remains today. Deep Ruby. Aromas and flavors of black cherry and blueberry with cacao, round oak and herb character. Firm tannins, long finish on this big wine with an earthy ending. Nice, but recommend decanting!

Mar 6th, 2020Tasted ‘15 & ‘16 together. In 1805, Daniel Phelan, an Irish wine broker, acquired Clos de Garamey, and was followed in 1810 by the acquisition of the Segur de Cabanac estate, creating the domain that remains today. Aromas and flavors of black cherry and blueberry with cacao, gentle oak and herb character. Firm grip on tannins, long finish on this big wine with an earthy ending. Approachable but decanting helps for now!

Jan 22nd, 2020In 1805, Daniel Phelan, an Irish wine broker, acquired le Clos de Garamey, and was followed in 1810 by the acquisition of the Segur de Cabanac estate, creating the domain that remains today. Aromas and flavors of black cherry and blueberry with cacao, gentle oak and herb character. Firm grip on tannins, lingering this big wine to an earthy ending. Tight now give it some time, decanting helps if you must now!

Aug 27th, 2018A good Phelan Segur in 2015. Already showing elegance.

Apr 6th, 2016Surprisingly this one was not shining as usually and as I expected it to.
Good balance, juicy tannins, all pieces there - but it somehow lacks depth and a bit of energy. Bad bottle or is this vintage shitting down now?

Little spice and hints of wood. Nice and fruity and very smooth.
