Wowie. April is my favorite time to drink bordeaux. En premieur, lamb, Greek Easter. What could be better. This is still alive and kicking in a big way. Earthy, bright and long.

Vintage 1990 - ripened tuilé colour, beautiful cherries in smell, as well as spicyness (laurel), pencil shavings, plums, minerals. Good balance, vitality, nice acidity and quite round at the moment. A Point. Long aftertaste. Classic. Was beautiful drinking, decanted it. With risotto al porcini.

Just a rock solid mature haut medoc, not showy but elegant and charming. Sweet black fruit, red currant, earth tones, cedar. Would expect it to hold together like this for a while yet

This was phenomenal. It’s incredible how youthful and powerful a 29-year old wine can be. Wonderful spicy nose, not a hint of age, beautiful color, great complexity, acidity, and length. This was a real pleasure and very memorable experience.

Rather tame and simple to begin, but once it opened up, roasted poblano peppers, sweet tobacco, and funky animal sweat were all revealed.

A classic, old school Bordeaux in a classic year. Decanted x5h. Still bright ruby, nose is mild barnyard with black cherry, leather, graphite on the attack with a lingering sense of tobacco and dried herbs. Tannins are resolving well with a bit of dry dust on the finish. Lively acidity and very youthful overall.

Soft and elegant with notes of dark fruit, pencil lead, forest floor, dried berries, leather and dried flowers. Only complaint is the finish was relatively short but still a beautiful wine.

This, most of all, is a homey wine. When one could talk about the vintage pedigree or how undervalued the producer is...this wine is so much more. It has an incredible combination of dark blueberried and clove-spiked fruit, green herbs and bell peppers, and toasty spicy oak. It all creates a feeling of rustic warmth that went great with a dish of roasted chicken with white beans and kale.
