Clos du Val Wine Co.
Carneros Chardonnay
Had with a delicious fish dish at Pontus restaurant in Stockholm. The wine is golden in color; the nose is full of citrus and unripe tropical fruits, and has a medium-oaked profile; the taste, which paired well with the fish, was high in alcohol and medium in acids (as expected), but the oak flavors, tropical fruits, and nice long succulent finish left me content.

Dec 5th, 2016Beautiful pale gold in the glass with thin edges. Pineapples, pears, honey crisp apples, and vanilla on the nose. The aromas don’t try to overpower you with, instead they subtly seduce you. Plush mouthfeel and incredible balance. This is not a stereotypical buttery Chard, nor is it overoaked. There’s oak to be had here but just about the right amount. On the palate, the citrus qualities come to life more but not in an overbearing manner. Lemon, more pears, and melon on the forefront with butterscotch and apple pie on the backend. A little unexpected spice note on the finish takes this baby home. Classic but not austere, a bit of elegance without the pomp. Very nice stuff.

Oct 29th, 2017@Paul Treadway Huntington Beacher chips and salsa wine. The aubert and wente nth were appropriately paired with beer can chicken and seared sushi grade salmon on the green egg. Style wise, this was probably between the two but closer to the wente. For the price, it's nice a value though. Got this as a 375 from Trader Joe's.
