Kicking the festivities off with some 1990 Champagne. This is medium gold with active bubble stream. Brioche toast nose. Also notes of citrus, apple juice and stones. Pleasant in the mouth but not overpowering. Decent showing but I expected (and wanted) more energy and mousse. (Bday 1 of 13)

Medium gold color. Nice steady slow stream of tiny bubbles. Great nose that evolves with air during the night. Notes of lemon, orange, apricot, shells, and gravel stone. At first dry but later rich and powerful in the mouth. After a couple of hours this was all fruit forward. Very impressive wine. This bottle was in great shape and had many years of fun in front of it.

1 day old-crushed yellow apples, maple brioche, moms cinnamon bread w/ fresh butter, bruised pears. Piercing acidity like biting into a fresh green apple but layered with cream somehow. Full of tension yet so precise. One of the best DP's I've tried.... makes me want to wait 15+ years for the 2002! Happy Canadian thanksgiving! 😊

Yes. Spot on. Drink 'em if you got 'em.

Still good! Dark golden complexion, honeyed apples, lingering bubbles with nuttiness.

Here is an interesting experience...

A friend brought over this 29 year old Champagne, that was obviously not stored properly, as it is not showing at its best. Showing over ripen citrus fruits, lemons, apples, yeast and minerals. Kind of weird aftertaste. Still, it is drinkable.

The cork was somewhat easy to come out with no pop sound. Oops 😢

Medium bodied with almost no carbonation.

Most of us didn't care for it, but a nice experience regardless.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

86 points.
