Dom Pérignon
Brut Champagne Blend
Very dry. Hay and pressed flowers. Prickly dry. Some more expressive fruit on day 2, but this is closed as far as I can tell.

Mar 4th, 2023Still a baby. Very powerful. Can’t wait to try the 2010 again after it develops some subtlety in 5 or so years. Nevertheless a lovely wine

Aug 31st, 2022At the Dom Perignon dinner last Friday night. The first of the Doms - 54% Chardonnay, 46% Pinot Noir, Dosage 5G/l. Quite full bodied and delicious with great concentration and intensity on nose and palate with Lemon and a touch of Cumquat. Still with the requisite tension to keep things exciting.

Nov 22nd, 2021Quite plush and rounded. Almost exotic. Lacks a little of the thrust of more structured vintage. Unusual

It is hard to believe how long this has been released past their 2009 vintage and after trying this wine, the patience definitely paid off. Needing an hour in the decanter to fulfil it’s full potential, the wine slowly unveils scents of almondine, toasty brioche and cantaloupe alongside Meyer lemon zest all take shape on the nose. The palate shows a soft mouthfeel and silky mousse, yet remains very tightly wound. Ripe green apple and kumquat zest tones combine with minerals, sourdough bread and smoky undertones, with a light dusting of salinity. This is fabulous to enjoy now, as the 2010 Dom Perignon Champagne has some really good aging potential as well. Drink 2020-2038-95
