Leon Barral never disappoints - perhaps not the top of the tops but his wines are always solid. Also the base Faugeres always does well.

Reductive & decanted. Opened up aromatically showing cracked pepper & deep blackberry notes. Powerful, but shows a wild character. Dark fruits with something between spice, herbs & an almost umami note balancing that fruit. Tannic, but the decant tamed those a bit. Barral is like the garage band version of Tempier. Love their wines.
