Domaine Louis Michel
Montée de Tonnerre Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay
Chablis, Burgundy, France
This is great with fried chicken! Pear tones with a great citrus (lemon) finish. For a modest price it over performs. Even at 8 years - lot’s of energy.

Bright, clean, citrus fruit, minerality and a touch of an anise note.

Lovely unctuous limestone and seashell. A bit of honey and lemon. Had the 2013 & could age a bit more. A damn fine Chablis

This has really changed or at least this bottle. The acidity has perked up significantly. Very tight on opening, needing about 30-60 minutes of air. Lemon zest, oyster shell and minerals. Beautifully composed, pairing so well with a diverse array of food (tonight was fusilli with clams, Serrano, pecorino, garlic and roasted cherry tomatoes). It’s amazing how this wine went from low acidity and almost flabby to tight with punchy acidity. I have one bottle left that I will likely drink this coming year.
