Ferrari-Carano
Sonoma County Chardonnay
Family-owned and operated since 1985. Just tried the ‘15 vintage. Grapes sourced from several vineyards, complex aromas of fruits, citrus & sweet spice. On the palate ripe fruits, apple, pear and peach with lemon citrus and vanilla adding toasty oak. French oak aging, great balance, lingering ending with toasty oak finish. I have had this wine as a staple in my cellar for a number of years. Enjoy! Great value, compared to Chards costing $10 more.

Mar 24th, 2018The wine has a golden tint and an aromatic nose with lemons, tangerines and a bit of minerality mixing in. On the palate, there's great citrus and tropical fruit and a full mouthfeel. The oak is a bit more pronounced than I usually like, but I always fall for that at holiday time. It's not a butterball, but it definitely has a bit of a spare tire. This is a lush Chardonnay with a good acidity and a clear hankering to be on a Thanksgiving table.

Oct 11th, 2022A lot going on with this Chard I bought on clearance (only reason)... slightly golden color but really aromatic if you drink at cellar temp: white peach & pear, sweet citrus notes along w/tropical fruit. Prevalent oak & butter - not shy but not over-powering. Sluggish on the palate w/acidity lost in shuffle. Paired w/smoked turkey, white pumpkin & roasted potatoes: stood up well.

Jul 16th, 2019Smells churchy. Sharper than desired; over powered by lackluster lemons? Perhaps an ice cube would level it out? It helps but not really.

Jun 3rd, 2018Complete and utterly confected, fake, manipulated bummer of a wine. Tastes like you took canned fruit salad, dumped it in an oak barrel for a year and added malo and lees stirring.
