Dark brick color, clear; dark dried cherries, plums, some strawberries, honeysuckle, potpourrie of dried red flowers, hints of oak; dry on the palate, not very tannic at all, and quite lame on the midpalate, chestburning finish without the flair and elegance one would expect from this region and vintage.

A very nice Barolo that didn’t break the bank. Paired well with grilled meats and fire-roasted vegetables while dining out. Bing cherry notes with a slight minerality on the mid-palate.

Decanted several hours. Profile typical of a Barolo. Lots of red fruit: cherry, strawberry, raspberry. Heavy tannins. Opens into leather and tobacco. A few floral notes. Mid-palate is a bit sharp and finishes a little shorter than I’d like.
