Les Ruchets Cornas Syrah
Cool to taste next to Clape. Clearly a more open and immediate style that has the benefit of some bottle age. Nose is leather, asian spice, cured meat, black plum. Palate is broad with more length and less complexity. I like JLC's wines and they are versatile entry points to the Rhône . Maybe a little less cerebral but certainly user-friendly and available.

Sep 25th, 2017Cornas with a little bottle age is so special. So much earth and spice and the right amount of funk and Brett.

May 5th, 2017Was expecting more. High alc. Deep rich purple color. Would consider it a new world style. Subdued nose. Power in the mouth but driven by alcohol. Tannins develop nicely and the finish is short.
