Powerful nose of tar and tobacco, white and red flowers. With 45 mins of air this was unbelievably soft and feminine, delicate but with a subdued power and grace. Loved this.

Quite deep garnet terracota , browning rim . Quite a a lot of sous bois , menthol , dark tea. Quite dense and masculine in the mouth , dark tea , meaty , slightly more dried red fruits , sous bois on the palate . Quite long and complex on the finish , liquorice , meaty notes . Now and over the next 5-8 years .

The 2001 Dieci Anni Vigna Rionda Barolo Reserva opened with dark fruits, cola, brown sugar, leather and dried violets. As the bottle developed the cola continued to thrive with more red fruits coming through with even a hint of heavy strawberry and cream on the end. An exceptional bottle

Brilliant and tannic as all get out. Could likely have sat for another 10-20 years, but was luscious tonight.
