Poured into a ship’s decanter about an hour prior. Loads of sweet pipe tobacco, cassis, and purple flowers on the nose. On the palate, abundant, lush dark fruits with baking spices, tobacco and green bell pepper. Medium-plus tannins; medium-plus acid. Impeccable balance. Still quite primary at this point and I would say that the best is yet to come. Better after 2023 and through 2033.

Will only improve, but still very compelling right now. Clearly classical.

Dark violet. Not very aromatic at this point but hints at blackberry, licorice, vanilla, gravel, and flowers. Tightly wound. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in large foudre then 12 months in barrique . Would hold for now. 14.25% ABV.

Tasting at the breathtaking Mayacamas Vineyard. Expressive nose with red fruits, kirsch, trace of oak. Great acidity, firm fruit tannins, bone dry with 45+s finish. Old Napa Cab style. My personal's favorite in the lineup. Decades of life ahead. 14.25% alc. 2013 vintage

More black fruit than younger siblings (86 & 03) that I tasted along side but still Barolo like & still that characteristic yummy twang! And this was first year of new ownership so a bit of change, but the terroir rules 👍👍👍

Pleasant nose of red fruit and spice. Cranberry and tart cherry on the palate; acidic.

Generous and more open than other vintages, this still carries the terroir just with a little more generosity in the fruit and ripeness.

Delicious and compared to the 2013 quilceda creek from last night. Dark berry with charcoal and rustic flavors. Could’ve used more airtime. Overall very good.

Slightly rustic (for Napa) with and earthy green character. Currants, sweet liquorice, tobacco. Long finish.
