Earthquake Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon
Time for my Friday's Cabernet fix. This time I'm doubling up...
Deep purple/Inky in color with a purplish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, chocolate cake, dark coffee, mocha, earth, cola, spice box and peppercorn.
Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Extra fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked strawberries, spices, pencil lead, leather, licorice, vanilla, cedar, chocolates, tobacco, mocha coke, beef jerky and peppercorn.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.
This Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi is always enjoyable. Well balanced and complex. Fruity with enough acidity to balance it out. This 3 year old is drinking very nicely now.
15% alcohol by volume.

Great nose of dark fruits, blackberries, sweet plums, figs, raisins, vanilla, sweet raspberries, smoke, chocolates, mocha, earth, wood, licorice, peppercorn and spices.
Full bodied, bold and jammy, with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, raisins, vanilla, licorice, spices, oak, chocolates, smoke, coffee, beef jerky and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm tannins and black pepper.
This Californian Cabernet is always delicious. Can't go wrong here. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself as a sipping wine, or even with food. A Very enjoyable finish with a great mouth feel and chewy tannins.
Nice complexity joins in after 30 minutes of airtime.
15% alcohol by volume.

I am not a cab fan, but this was pretty tasty. Aging it brought out some nice flavors. Kept it about 3 years from purchase

Mar 3rd, 2018We love this wine. It needs a grilled steak with lots of marbling to offset it.

Dec 25th, 2017Deep purple hue, high viscosity, black fruit on the nose and the palette with a smooth finish. This wine drinks similar to their Petite Petite which is cheaper.
