Dec 2nd, 2018Dried cherries, tea leaves, and menthol aromas in the glass....pencil lead, white pepper, black fruit flavors are shrouded in mouth coating tannins...this etna rosso drinks more like a CdP than a pinot noir...very compelling...

Sep 19th, 2018Interesting. A little thin but let it air and it starts coming together much more. I'm happy I threw it in a decanter and waited a bit. Maybe not an excellent wine but interesting. It has elements of a full bodied wine in its chalkiness and it's acidity, but also elements of a medium bodied wine in that it has elements of roses (think Nebbiolo) and it's overall heft isn't huge. Does remind me of Nebbiolo a lot and perhaps elements of Pinot noir? Would buy again if I shared it with others. I am liking these Ethan's wines more and more. As a side note this wine doesn't have as much of the modern style of wine making that some other Etna reds I have had.
