On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of ripe red and dark fruits: Morello cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, roses, tar, tobacco, and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This was such a fun ride as the hours rolled by and while it is really delicious now, there is a long future yet ahead. Drink now through 2040. Bottle No. 1303/1982.

Delicious. Still tight, hold if you can. Should you lose patience like me, you will still be rewarded with perfectly balanced notes of star anise, ripe cherry, herbs, sandalwood, and rose petals. Super chewy for sure, but wonderful, especially with pasta.

Feb 11th, 2021Very tight out of the bottle and even with two hours in the decanter it was a huge wine with lovely tannins and strong acidity - did a great job of cutting through the fat of my steak! Had a very smoky flavor with strong cherry notes. Should age beautifully and I will be patient with my other two bottles.
