2020 vintage. Excellent concentration. Medium body with a lengthy, deliciously dry, finish. Looking to taste through the rest of this producer's offerings. This particular wine a little pricey and won't be able to move it but really enjoyed. 04.09.25. — 6 days ago
Very nice barbaresco, medium/light and great Italian/pasta pairing — 10 days ago
Ambrosial bouquet with expressive notes of dried cherry, wild strawberry sauce, kirsch, mulberry, blueberry compote, violet, black tea, potpourri, black licorice, star anise, clove, vanilla, crushed stone, leather, and forest floor.
Highly structured, with broad shoulders, on the palate. It’s delicious now, even as a baby, with runway to age, soften, & gain additional dimension. 😍 — a month ago
Ultra sweet nose, concentrated aromatics, focused and tannic, still. Gentle finish but tons of length. Meditation wine or light fare. — 17 days ago
Garnet core , medium wide terracotta rim. Slightly balsamic sous bois , spiced red cherry , porcini , touch of menthol. On the palate this has good density , red cherry, porcini , good mineral tinged finish. Quite high acidity and slightly gritty tannin . Still showing very well , probably at peak drinking now . Now and over the next 5 years. Surprisingly good . — 5 days ago
It’s been almost 8 years since I last enjoyed the 2011 Asili and I’m happy to report that it’s still a stunner. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two hours. The wine pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of ripe and tart red fruits: raspberries, strawberry, pomegranate, roses, tar, talcum powder, dried green herbs and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is one dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is gorgeous and it’s no wonder I thought so highly of it back in 2017. While this is firing on all cylinders right now, the future remains bright. Drink now through 2041+. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two hours. It’s been almost a year since my last visit with the 2018 vintage and it’s in a very pretty spot right now. All notes previously apply though I should point out that the florals are especially showy right now. The nose is simply beautiful to experience. The fruit remains fresh and mostly red fruited. The structure is still firm. Very, very easy to enjoy on its own or with a meal. Drink now through 2038+. — 12 days ago
