Silly and supple. Young. Better day 2. Traditional Brunello. Love it!

Delicate and refined but from the start and even after air seems to lack the focus and character of other well-made Brunellos.

2007 still needs time but beautiful cherry flavors. Opened for an hour in decanter. Probably would be better tomorrow.

Nicely evolved Brunello with dark berries and red currant undertones. Balance and wafting from the bottle nicely.

This is pitch perfect classically-styled brunello, arguably starting to reach peak. God, this is heavenly. On the nose: soft rose, soft tar, soft blackberry...soft but nevertheless intense at the same time. Supremely elegant and refined..on the nose as well as the palate; black cherry, fantastic acidity, pitch perfect density...then tannin building intensity to a finely grained apogee..juiciness to close. Wow.

Wonderful aroma initially, seemed to open after an hour or so, and had plenty of acidity, fruit, and tannin, but eventually started showing it’s age a bit. Definitely was in better shape than the 06 from a couple months ago, but I’ll admit I was still hoping for more.

Boom. No explanation needed. Pure Brunello goodness. In a nice spot right now

The 07 was unfortunately slightly corked so we really didn’t get to see much of it. Hopefully the next one is in better shape. It still had acidity and tannins, but the cork taint was throwing off the rest of the flavors.

Zing! In a great place but still has time to grow. Slow ox’d over a few hours and it only improved over time. A special bottle. Happy Xmas!
