Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

Holding up really well. Needed some air but opened up after about 30min. Red and dark fruited. Dry, dusty herbs and some truffle...perhaps a touch of some baking spice but only just. A very typical and very well executed BdM.

Needs more time. After two days is still not open all the way

This one is still a bit wound up. Has some nice rich fruit up front but it's got a lot of structure still. Revisit in a couple years.

Pomegranate and serious forrest floor dominate the nose with a hint of porcini mushrooms. Dark fruit of cassis, pomegranate, and stewed blackberries continue on the palate with some lighter tannins. Drink over the next 3 years.

Even nearly 20 years old this is still sturdy. Air helps and eventually a nice core of dark fruit emerges. I enjoyed it but I’m going to let my lady bottle slumber for a bit yet.

Wonderful aromatics! So perfumed and floral with some cherry mixes in too.

Vibrant black cherry is in the forefront with blackberry, leather and chewy tannins layered throughout.

Drinking well now but has many years ahead still too...drank with braised lamb shank in red wine sauce and blue cheese mashed potatoes.

Pretty much everything you could ask for in Brunello

This is a perfect example of why you lay down wine. Absolutely smooth as silk. Great wine!
