Etna Bianco Carricante
Nice and fresh, medium bodied, halfway between chablis and albarino, its got a salty citrus tang, followed by underripe stone and orchard fruits like white peach and yellow pear. Its round but bright, subtle yet expressive. A ton of florality (mostly white flowers and pollen) and just a hint of spearmint.

Jan 29th, 2022Comparing two Etna whites in the shadow of the great mountain itself.
Fresh & mineral with some shy yellow stone fruit, a pinch of dried herbs, a healthy dose of salty freshness but overall, the mineral stony fresh character dominates.
On the palate this is round and at first, fruity, and then the spicy, herby minerality cuts through, followed by racy acidity. This has loads of character and interesting edginess. You can have this solo & meditate with it, listening to the waves crashing in, but this really begs for a swordfish steak!
