Nose is reticent but what is there is on the weedy side. There’s also some pungent minerality, with some nice cassis fruit struggling to peek through. Deep and savory in the mouth, with very nice acids keeping things youthful-feeling. Still a fair amount of very fine tannin. This reminds me of a good Listrac. Still has years to go.

Dec 15th, 2024Still tight and young. Nose reminds me of Napa Cabs from the 70s, with a weedy thing that accompanies tight cassis fruit. Graphite and gravel too. Tight in the mouth, with very good acids and lots of youthful but soft tannins. Give this at least 3-5 years. (Which is not to say it’s not very tasty now.)

Typical Cab elements, pepper, lead pencil and spice all around. Had a bottle of this about a year ago and this one is noticeably better. Will hold my other bottles and see. Visited the winery a few years ago. They offered us an excellent tasting.

Sep 22nd, 2024Very nice nose of blackberries, some other black fruits and a bit of pencil lead. The taste was smooth with complex fruit notes. Nice long finish, jeez what’s not to like. Visited the winery end of last century.
