AdegaMãe – Terras de Lisboa Branco Reserva 2023 IG Lisboa, Portugal 🇵🇹
Overview A fascinating Portuguese white blend made from Viosinho 38%, Arinto 29%, Alvarinho 22%, and Sauvignon Blanc 11%. This blend brings together Portugal’s traditional grapes with an international lift, creating both complexity and freshness.
Aromas & Flavors Lively and layered: citrus zest, green apple, and ripe pear, with tropical notes from Alvarinho. Viosinho adds body and stone fruit, apricot, peach, Arinto sharpens the acidity with a lemony edge, while Sauvignon Blanc contributes herbal tones and a touch of gooseberry. Subtle mineral and saline notes tie everything together.
Mouthfeel Medium-bodied with a crisp backbone and refreshing acidity. The interplay between richness and vibrancy makes it elegant yet easy to drink.
Food Pairings Ideal with grilled sardines, bacalhau à brás (Portuguese cod dish), seafood rice, or fresh oysters. It also pairs well with roast chicken and Mediterranean vegetarian dishes like grilled zucchini or chickpea stew.
Verdict A lovely, complex Portuguese white that balances local tradition with a modern twist. Proof that Lisbon’s wine scene is as dynamic and exciting as the city itself.
Did You Know? The Lisboa wine region stretches along Portugal’s Atlantic coast. Its cooling ocean breezes help retain freshness in the grapes, making the wines vibrant and food-friendly despite the warm climate. — 9 hours ago
This has the aromatic complexity, acidities, body, concentration and purity, the only thing it lacks is the depth and the length of the flavor, and the minerality, which reduces the degree of definition and the polish. — 7 years ago
Had the 2022 in April of 2024. Really tasty table wine. Medium body with hints of violet and cherry. Was well rounded and not overly tannic. Enjoyed this one and would drink again. — 2 years ago
