Very funky, almost sulphurish. Delicious. — 4 years ago
Simple, local Albarin (which I didn’t know was so distinctive from Albariño) by the glass at Güeyu Mar. — 2 months ago
Developing a taste for Albarín, an indigenous variety from Leon, Asturias and Galicia, where it is also known as Branco Lexítimo. From 60+ years old vines on slate, limestone and clay soils in Cangas de Narcea (Asturias). Aged in used 500 liter French oak barrels for 6 months. Notes of citrus. Very fresh, zippy acidity — 3 years ago
Lemons and chalk! A match, weirdly w cavatelli and pesto. Beautiful, bright stuff. — 5 years ago
Actually red Carrasquin Mencia. Recommended by Genova at NM in Oviedo on 5/17/25, to accompany one of best meals ever — indeed good pairing except with dairy dessert. Like high altitude Pinot. — 2 months ago
This is the Prieto Picudo red. Pls update @Delectable — 2 years ago
100% Albarin (not to be confused with Albariño), a little-known indigenous variety from Leon and Galicia, where it is also known as Branco Lexitimo. Aromatic, citrus (lemon, tangerine) and some floral and herbal notes (reminiscent of Verdejo). Crisp, fresh, saline. Amazing value — 4 years ago

Turns out this is not an Albariño but an entirely different grape. That said, this wine is still a great white wine. Little bit of citrus but lots of floral and honey notes on this one both in the nose and on the tongue. Hints of minerality on the nose and effervescence on the palate really make this a unique wine. Would absolutely drink again! — 5 days ago
