2022 vintage. Dark red, much deeper colour than usual for this estate. Marie-Laure Lurton seems to have gone for a bit more extraction in this exceptional vintage. More powerful than usual, with a fresh black fruit personality,embedded in a tight, ripe tannic structure. Serious length too. Decanting recommended,as it showed better the next day. Thought this was corked, it was all musty & cardboard. I pulled another bottle and it was the same. I poured one into a decanter and re-corked the other. A couple hours later it transformed. Rustic old world depiction of Syrah, all meat & mineral, dark fruit, white pepper, nice nose and some finesse on palate. This needs more time and tons of aeration. — 3 months ago
